Can you still feel the butterflies?

It's hard to describe an emotional expression as a physical response but not impossible.

"What?" A grin appeared on his face. I didn't see it since my head was on his chest but I knew it was there. I could feel it.

"Nothing," I said with a chuckle. This was the beginning of our usual exchange after I make an odd noise or make a peculiar face.

"No, come on." He reached his hand down to my face to lift my gaze to his. He was indeed smiling.

"Nothing," I said, beaming.

"No, what?"

I sighed, grabbed his hand so that his palm faced upward. Then I placed my fingertips on top of his palm. I moved my fingers against his skin as if my fingers were gently dancing. "That's what it feels like for me."

He squeezed me tighter with enthusiasm. "Really?"

I blinked. "Yeah."

"Wow."

"I know." I rested my head back on his chest and felt fingers dancing all over my body.

Aww

I just got delivered 24 long stem roses!

Family values

Whoever wrote this article is a fuckwit. How dare he judge her and call her child a bastard.

Mometary lapse of reason

Do you know what it feels like?

What the…

Cause with you
I can let my hair down

Stop it Riss…

I can say anything crazy
I know you'll catch me right before I hit the ground

What the hell am I doing?!

With nothing but a T-shirt on
I've never felt so beautiful
Baby as I do now

I’m not…oh dear God NO!

Now that I'm with you
With you
Now that I'm with you

What has happened to me?!

I’m prancing around my room in my pjamama's whilst singing to Jessica Simpson, using my deodorant bottle as a microphone.

The song has been on repeat for the last 15 minutes. I have a dance routine for it now too.

I’m ashamed.

I never felt so beautiful
Baby as I do now (Baby as I do now)
Now that I'm with you

Ah, what the hell. After my crappy day at work this is making me feel much better. I might start listening to Britney now, heh.

The adventures of an average girl

Just when things in my life get relatively interesting and blog-worthy my blog goes down. I didn’t think I’d mind it being down, but after a couple of days I started to get withdrawals. After blogging for so many years now not having that outlet there for me use just felt wrong. I’m such a blog geek.

1. New toys

I am now the proud owner of a brand spanking new, uber sexy Cannon Ixus 500. I’m still not used to the interface and settings of a Cannon since I had a Sony, but Pixel’s (yes, I have named my new camera Pixel. I name all of my things- my star pillow is called Twink, the cow on my quilt cover is called Moo, my TV is called…erm, I’ll just leave it at that) features are awesome, especially the 640x480 video!

Also, my spiffy new laptop with a lovely flat, 15.4 inch screen should be arriving soon. I need to think of a name for it so it feels welcome.

2. Concerts

Maroon 5
I was lucky enough to get tickets the Maroon 5’s only Sydney concert at The Gaelic Club on Thursday 15th. The venue was great, very intimate with a capacity of only 800. Even though we were pretty close to the back of the line getting into the venue, we just happened to be standing near stairs to the gallery and scored a prime position upstairs overlooking the stage. I could have spat right on the band, and the rest of the poor buggers cramped onto the ground floor, if I felt like it.

I was expecting a lot from this concert and the band sure delivered. Their set was awesome, their hits ‘This Love’ and ‘Harder to Breathe’ sent the predominantly female crowd nuts, with a pair of lacey, red panties being thrown on the stage in the hysteria. Their mellow songs like, ‘She Will Be Loved’ and ‘Sweetest Goodbye’ really showed off Ryan’s sexy voice. Rawrrrr.

One great thing about this band was the depth of their talent. The lead singer could sing, play the guitar and play the drums, the keyboardist could also play the guitar and the drummer (who is all kinds of hot) could also play the guitar and sing. The last song was the drummer taking the lead and singing ACDC’s hit ‘Highway to Hell’. Damn those people who are musically multi-talented, I can’t even play one fricking instrument!

John Mayer
I don’t care what other people think of him, he still rocks my world! And we had SECOND row tickets! Sure he may write cheesy love songs, and sound as if he’s mumbling rather than singing at times, but no one can say that he is a crappy guitar player. The man never fails to amaze me with his guitar skills. Genius. His 10 minute solo in ‘Come Back to Bed’ had the crowd in awe; during one part of it he placed his guitar completely behind his back and played it perfectly. We were so close to the front of the stage, I even have snippets of video I took with Pixel where he’s looking straight at me. Priceless! He may look a bit weird with his facials in the videos but still, it was great to be so close to him and all the action.

3. Food

Harbour Kitchen & Bar
The food here is delicious, a bit pricey but still delicious. It’s location at The Rocks, right one the water and within one of the classiest hotels in Sydney makes it a very swanky dinning experience.

I didn’t get to try any of the divine looking desserts because we were too full from out entrée’s and mains but at least it gives us an excuse to go back, heh.

Aqua Luna
Another lovely restaurant with great Harbour views, they have the yummiest bread! Unlike the hard rolls you get at some places as starters this stuff is pretty decent. The food was great, pasta there is divine, but I still say that the Chocolate Nemesis dessert is the major draw card. Absolutely orgasmic. *drools*

Bills
Despite being a bitch to get to, and having to wait around 30mins for a table since they don’t take reservations, this place deserves all the hype around it. Talk about orgasmic, the Ricotta Hotcakes with honeycomb butter, oh my… so, so, sooooooo good. It was hard to choose what to have since it all looked too yum, I need to go back and try the corn fritters.

Cool links

  • Gmail is pretty cool, I like the interface and the ad free pages. Plus you can't go wrong with 1000mb of storage. missriss@gmail.com, is what I had to settle for since riss was too short a username (what's up with that?! Hmph)
  • Some people have way too much time on their hands.
  • This site has a fab flash module to watch the Seinfield and Superman AMEX ads, as well as some cute behind the scenes snippets. Great work from our New York office, I wish we could do cool stuff like that here.

And it's back.

Time to re-upload my 20mb of files on my slow ass 56k modem.

Oh joy.

Be still my beating heart

I am such a hopeless romantic and I blame this completely on sappy, romantic movies and television shows that I watch. I can't help but be sucked in by their contrived storylines, and won over by the cheesy lines the lead actors espouse. I swoon at the sight of rose petals scattered on the bed and turn into a blubbering mess when I hear someone confess their love for their childhood sweetheart.

I can't help but want romance like you see on the big screen, a sweep you off your feet kind of romance that makes one swoon and giggle and blush. Hearing whispered I love you's as you fall asleep, being givens flowers for no apparent reason or being whisked away for a romantic getaway or balloon ride seems so cliched but still would completely win me over.

But I guess I should bring my expectations down because they're too lofty and unrealistic. I'm naive in my desire for movie screen love stories and should realise that romance like that is dreamlike and belongs in pages of books and on movie screens and won't leap out into reality.

Starsucks

I went to the Easter Show on Saturday night which was all kinds of fun. However I liked it better when it was still at Moore Park and everything was so squished, cramped and smelled like horse poo. Nothing says Easter Show more than horse poo. The Show feels too sterile now that it's at Sydney Olympic Park.

The showbags have always been a draw card for to The Show, but this packet seems more like an item you’d find inside a kinky showbag rather than a Starburst bag.

Things that make you go aww

How sweet. Being read to is definitely swoon worthy.

Refer to the last couple of minutes of episode 1, season 4 of Dawson's Creek and you'll see what I mean.

Wow, not so private after all.

Woo!

It's 8pm and I'm still at work. I've been here since 8am. I am not happy. I should have stayed home again today because I still feel like crap.

The only redeeming aspect of my day has been the fact that I managed to get tickets to the sold out Maroon5 concert. After sending emails to the guys at Moshtix they kindly informed me that a few tickets that were refunded were released and on sale. They have become my new best friends. My workmates and I were contemplating buying a couple more tickets so we could sell them on eBay, a pair of tickets was auctioned for $200 today (crazy, especially when the tickets only cost $30) but we decided against it because we felt slack ripping people off.
