Twisted much?

Another Livejournal murder has occured. First Rachelle Waterman, and now 'rockonlittleone', it's incredibly fucked up if you ask me. (For those of you who don't know Rachel Waterman made headlines as the girl who conspired to murder her mother, hired two paramours to do the deed, and documented it all on her Livejournal- check out here for more information).

It's disturbing that people are using their LJ's to vent their anger and frustration instead of talking to someone about it. I know journal's are a cathartic outlet, however when you're having serious issues I don't think it's a very helpful medium. And it's also troubling that people who comment and read it might be encouraging their behaviour.

Hubba hubba

I watched the last episode of 24 last night (with no help from those idiots at Channel 7, am glad that my boy managed to get them for me) and whoa! Am so loving Jack Bauer right about now. Kiefer is so sexy for an older guy. Bring on season 5!

Random thoughts

I have heard it said that loneliness is the great modern plague, that it exists in epidemic proportions amongst the most of the people you know and love. I think it helps to realise that being alone does not necessarily make you lonely. We all know quite a few people who actually enjoy solitude because they have mastered the art of living pleasantly with themselves.

Some people seem to be born with this happy faculty, like little kids. one night when one of the guys at work brought his daughter in who is around 2 and a half, I could hear her laughing and talking to herself. I went over to her and asked what was going on. "Oh," she said, "I'm just laughing because I have such a good time with me!" and I remember thinking: what a wonderful way to be.

Err, thanks?

After dance class last night:

Strange guy dancer who I'm sure is gay: You should be a stripper
Me: Pardon?
SGAWISIG: You should be a stripper, you move your body really well
Me: Oh
SGAWISIG: I'm serious, you move really well. And not in a slutty way, it's very sexy
Me: Um, right. Thanks
*Riss' face turns red and she walks away very, very fast*

Very weird thing to say to a complete stranger. Especially when said stranger has no boobs and is very short. I guess it was a nice compliment?

Ear candy: "Don't Ya" - Tori Alamaze
(Ha! This is the song we were dancing to last night. It's quite fun to dance along to.)

Meh

Another thing that shits me to the nth degree are people in lifts who lean against the buttons with their bags. IF YOU'RE GOING TO LEAN AGAINST THE WALL MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE NOT LEANING ON THE FRICKING CONTROL PAD OF THE BLOODY LIFT OTHERWISE WE END UP STOPPING ON EVERY. DAMN. FLOOR.

Oh, and if you're only going up one floor and your company *coughPWCcough* spans a few consecutive levels in the same building why must you take a ride in the lift? Why can't you walk up or down the stairs? It is that hard for you to exercise your legs? You sit in front of a computer all day, you need the exercise.

Slow burn

I am a huge Jason Mraz fan as many of my previous blog entries can attest. I was so looking forward to his new album 'Mr. A – Z' as I'd been dying to hear new material from him for a year or so. I don’t know if it was because we had waited so long for him to release it that I had built up my expectations to such great heights, or because there was so much hype around the net about it, but I was bitterly disappointed when I finally got a listen.

I think it's the curse of the sophomore album, it always seems to go pear shaped. There are a few gems in there, especially "Life is Wonderful", "Geek in the Pink" and the first single "Wordplay", but the others didn't rock my rad-o-meter.

What I still like about him is there – his gorgeous voice and quirky lyrics, but the music isn't so great, some songs remind me of bad 80's electro-rock. I think this is one of those albums that will grow on me after a few listens, although I've been listening to it all day at work and still hasn't moved me as much as I'd hoped it would.

Spoilt

Mark took me to Banjo Patterson's Cottage Restaurant on Friday night and it was divine. The food was great (the dessert was yum to the infinite power), and the ambience of the place was quite cosy – I love the whole quaintness and charm of old houses transformed into restaurants and cafes.

Definitely worth checking out if you want to go somewhere nice that isn't in the city.

Die vampires, DIE!

Buffy Chaos Bleeds on X-Box is a great game to play if you want release your anger and frustrations. I'm a massive Buffy fan and occasionally I have dreams that I too am a vampire slayer, especially after watching a few episodes on DVD. Yes, I'm lame but I don't care! Killing and bashing things up is always fun, and even more fun when you get to slash them with swords, hack away at them with axes and dust them with wooden stakes. Poor Mark was bored to tears while I hogged his X-Box for a few hours and he had to sit through my cries of "take that bitches" and stupid questions about what I had to do and where I had to go as I played the game.

Power to the vampire slayers. Hee.
