Home

I'm finally home.

New York City was absolutely amazing - it was everything I thought it would be and more (pardon the cliche).

Our days were jammed packed; we did and saw so much, managing weekend trips to Washington and also Toronto. It's going to take a while write about it...I'll get there eventually though.

A few highlights included:

  • Niagara Falls (Canadian side) – riding on the Maid of the Mist and being right under the Canadian horseshoe falls was awesome!

  • Studio audience for Late Show with David Letterman – we weren’t expecting to get to see a taping as tickets to shows are like gold, but we were walking in Times Square and were lucky enough to walk past a chick handing out tickets to the next day’s show! All we had to do was answer a bit of Late Show trivia and we scored tickets.

  • Top of the Rock Observation deck – we did this at 11pm and saw the whole city lit up. It was beautiful; I liked this more than going up on the Empire State Building because you could actually see the Empire State from the top of the Rockerfeller Building. We were also the last ones up there and being the cheesy person that I am, I made Mark dance with me which was nice.

  • Night time horse and carriage ride in Central Park.

  • Seeing Tarzan the Musical – this is Disney’s latest musical installment and debuted on Broadway on May 10th, we got 3rd row seats to it a few days ago and it was great. Very different to the Lion King even though they both have talking animals – the set wasn’t as grand as the Lion King but some of the stage effects were impressive and the singing was fantastic. And oh my, the guy who played Tarzan was oh so very cute in his loincloth.

  • Washington DC – not only for the monuments but for that drunken night when one of the boys decided to have a few too many martini's...

  • And I hate to admit this, but I failed miserably in my attempts to spend up big – my shopping haul was dismal, with Mark buying more than me. I was (and still am) very depressed.

A big thanks to Jonathan for putting up with us and giving us a home, even though you snore BIG TIME! (I have video footage of this and if given the right price will share it with interested parties :p )

Pictures and more detailed posts to come, stay tuned.
